Nothing Blog

So I feel like I haven't blogged in a while so I just decided to try blogging something to tell the world about my life. Usually I have things to talk about because of Grant and as I write things will come to mind but nothing "exciting" has been happening around here. I'm anxious for spring to just be here. I don't want below 50 degree weather. I used to think 40 and up was nice. Now I won't go outside and am even hesitant to want to go out side when the weather is in the 50s. I'm just ready for 60 and up weather. I am also excited about gardening. I have a gardening planner online called smartgardener.com and I put my dimensions of my garden on it and then selected what I want to plant this year. Then as the weeks pass every so often I get an email telling me what I need to do that week to prepare for my garden. So this last week I was supposed to start germinating my pepper and tomato plants. I was told by my mom last year to  just buy those types of plants but for this very reason. I was not prepared last year with already germinated plants. But this year I went and bought some seeds and a "germinating" kit, basically same thing as putting soil in an egg carton and planting seeds and keeping it moist until little plants appear.  So then the plants will be right on track with how big they are supposed to be when they will be planted outside by the last frost date. Anyway, I love growing plants. The miracle of something so great coming from a little seed is a wonderful reminder of how God has designed everything and has a plan for everything and everyone of course. But he designed and created this beautiful world of order and beauty. Enough order in fact to work on its own. People are different of course, we need his guiding hand in our lives but plants and animals just do their thing the way they are supposed to and it all works out. So I'm excited to watch my plants grow and produce fruit. Also I hope to instill this love of plant growing in Grant. Its more me having fun planting but I hope he will see how fun it is while watering them and seeing the change in them. So I bought a couple flower varieties to plant with him in egg cartons and then we can transplant them outside when they get bigger. He loved watering the garden with me last year so this year should be even more fun with him being older and all.
Other nothings and ramblings.... Oh! Perry and I celebrated our 4th anniversary. It was a delightful day.   It was the last official day of the semester not including finals. So he only had to attend one class and had previously asked for the day off from work and made up the time on his nothing day of Thursday, when he would have normally been at school and work he just had work so we could make up for that lost moulah. So he came home and we decided to play a little tennis. Just vollying back and forth. Neither of us knows how to play for real. Which is kind of sad because I took lessons as a kid and my mom and I would go to the park around 6:30am in the morning in the summer time and go "play" some tennis together. Somehow I didn't learn the rules or how to score. That is on my to do list to read up on it. I really want to know. I love tennis! Grant was pretty hilarious to watch. He would chase the extra balls around the court and then toss a ball over the net for me to hit to him. He definitely wore himself out. It was so funny because we were on a 3 court area and he would run almost the entire stretch of courts just to get one runaway ball. He had a blast thought and so did we. I actually found a raquet his size at Walmart and kind of impulsively bought it for him. He's going to be a pro for sure lol.
After tennis we went to play minigolf, then put Grant down for nap time and napped as well, then dropped him off at a friends while we went and had a lovely romantic dinner at Macaroni Grill. Its nice going out to eat on a week night so the place wasn't busy at all and I chose the best dish possible. I'm not good at ordering food at non american restaurants but I asked a bazillion questions so I managed this time. We ordered 2 appetizers: Fried zucchini and cheese balls, had the complimentary bread, ordered a raspberry lemonade, and Perry ordered a Pomegranate Basil chiller, I got some creamy mushroom ravioli with caramelized onions, and Perry got some breaded chicken thing. It was divine. We were too full to get dessert! Shocking I know!!! I was really looking forward to dessert. Oh well. We rented Puss in Boots and had a nice relaxing evening. It was quite the day!
I am very much looking forward to Perry's birthday this Tuesday! I have several things in store for him. I need to make up for my lack of preparation last year and make this year better. I didn't do much for him last year except for make a requested dinner and dessert and give him presents. And it was his big 25th last year for goodness sakes. So this year will be the more celebrated 26th lol. Anyway, I'm sure you feel obligated to keep reading but are sick of my ramblings. I'm super excited about Baby girl. Vote on the side bar if you haven't on facebook what name variation you like the best!
