Internship!
So I finally secured an internship and will be starting his on April 9.. a week from today! This is cool because I will be working as a Preschool teacher for Head Start. This is a government preschool for low income families. I will be working 12-4 Monday through Friday from April 9-June 4. That is 8 weeks of 20 hours a week. A total of 160 hours which is the minimum of minimums for an internship. I don't want to spend more time than I have to away from my baby. But Perry is really excited to spend time with Grant for a while exclusively. While I watch Grant in the mornings Perry will work and go to his 1 class. I'm currently trying to stock up my liquid gold a.k.a. breast milk for while I am away. I'm not really sure how much I will need but I think at most 2 bottles for each day. which is a total of about 8 oz of milk per day. Luckily my supervisor doesn't think it will be too much trouble to pump in the middle of my shift. And thanks to my mom's friend Nancy, I have a top of the line double pumper! Very helpful! So I will teach the children and just do my thing. Any other Preschool I would be doing outside of the classroom preparation at home which I was really trying to avoid. Luckily every Friday is prep day there and I can do that then. Also it will be easy preparation because since it is a government run program the lesson plans are basically already made and I just have to implement them. Awesome! I'm so excited to do it and experience it and also excited for it to be over with too because my mom and sisters are visiting me right after, as well as my friend Kim, from high school and I will be able to spend a lot of time with Perry and Grant every day before Perry does Student Teaching in the Fall. Fun stuff!
