Sickies

So Grant and I are both sick. Perry was sick and we believe we caught something from Amber and Trey when they visited. Oh well. So it is Grant's first cold and he coughs and sneezes and its just really sad to watch. Also coupled with that Grant had a his immunizations a couple of days ago. He was scared of the nurse and she took her sweet time giving him the multiple shots. I would have appreciated a more swift shot giving. So sad and heart breaking to watch his distraught and surprised cry each time a new thing stuck him in the leg. Ugh I can't think about it! So he was sensitive emotionally from that but also his legs became really sore so he cried whenever we changed his diaper or picked him up wrong or what not. Tylanel really helped. We have a humidifier in the bedroom to help relieve his congestion and his cough. Also it helps Perry and I to not cough at night too. Although Grant is somewhat used to me coughing while I nurse him and didn't even wake while laying next to me this morning when I was hacking away. This sickness is definitely better than having strep.. let me tell ya!! Also its amazing how Grant can cough and wake himself up and just fall right back asleep. I think he is getting better though since I didn't hear him really cough last night. The perk about Grant's sickness is he is super cuddly! Above are some pics of that.
Here is a video of Grant lovin' his daddy making him laugh.

Perry's First Father's Day

Perry was so excited to be a father on father's day. Grant gave him a basketball and some avocados. They are Perry's favorite at the moment, and he has shared his guacamole with me. It has been delicious. He was kind of upset that the men didn't get anything from our ward, since on mother's day the women always get something. Overall though I think it was a good day. I also called my dad and had a good little chat. I appreciate my father and all he has done for me in his life and I realize the sacrifices he has made for our family more than ever now that I have a son. Happy Father's Day!

Four Months!!

Grant turned four months old yesterday! To celebrate we went out to Applebees. Well actually we are sick and we just didn't want to make anything. Anyway, Grant rolled over for the first time ever! It was awesome. As you know I am about to graduate in my major of Child Development so I'm a little obsessive over his developmental milestones... maybe other moms are like that too but I was just sooo proud of him! He also is really funny when he lays on his back and likes to put his feet way up in the air. He has got some abs for being able to do that just for fun! Here are a couple videos, one where we are trying to coax him to roll over again for the camera but it doesn't actually happen but he did smile a cute one in it so its worth watching for that reason. And then the other video is of him putting his feet in the air. Enjoy!

Play Mat and Sassy Seat

My mom bought this fabulous play mat with toys in an arch while he is on his back and then great visuals while Grant does tummy time. I really appreciated it because Grant is getting harder to entertain these days, yet more smiley! She also got us a Sassy Seat.. Funny name.. basically a doorframe bouncer. At first Grant was terrified of what we were putting him in but he tried it out. I'm not sure he is big enough to be in it but I think someday it will be a favorite of his.

How to fit 7 people in a 1 bedroom apartment!

So my sisters Amber and Megan visited with Amber's son Trey, and then later my mom also came to visit. It was a lot of fun and a little crazy because we were cramped on space. It will be nice when we have a home and everyone doesn't feel claustrophobic. We bbqed hot dogs and had shishkabobs, we went to the zoo in Idaho Falls and the Mall, we went on walks, went to Perry's Basketball Game, and visited the little stores around town. Simple yet fun. It was also a bit of a juggle allowing both kids to take their naps. I learned online that baby sleep schedules get a little wacko when there is any change in their environment such as when family visits and boy did his change. He hardly slept the first night and then each night it got a little better and then he was back on track the last couple days of their stay. Also Grant isn't used to any noise when he nurses and his little cousin Trey kept talking to me and playing loudly as I nursed so Grant was slightly concerned. Luckily our next one will be used to all the racket that Grant makes as a toddler.
Here we are at the BBall game... by the way.. GO CELTICS! (Beat LA!)

Quality time with Grandma Flora!

Cousin Trey really wanted to hold "Beebee Gwat"

My family (Meg is cleaning dishes in the background) was so considerate and cleaned our whole apartment before they left. It made life so nice and stress free when we were just the 3 of us again. Oh yes and Grant in his Bumbo.

And of course Bathtime!

Shopping

So Perry and I are dejunking our apartment so that we can move to Vegas with the least amount of stuff. We are selling a lot of our furniture as well. So as a part of dejunking I went through my clothes and pretty much got rid of 3/4 of my wardrobe because they were too small for my big nursing boobs. So my sister in law took half of the clothes and the rest I have waiting to sell. So in leui of this little adventure I got to go shopping for new pants, shorts, and a bathing suit. Bathing suit shopping sucks! I got some pants from AE, long jean shorts from Old Navy, and just bought a swimsuit from this site! I was excited to find this site and choose my swimsuit. I was trying to post a picture of it but the computer won't let me put it on. If you want to search for it is the "Bowtie Tankini" in the "Teal Starburst" color. And the bottoms are the same print as the top. I sure hope it is modest. My problem is that whatever suit I tried on my cleavage was showing. They all had support but as my sister in law would say, I almost look like a porn star. So the swimsuit I chose is V neck but it is like there is an undershirt under the V which is sweet. Hopefully it works out. We also bought grant some swim trunks for our summer vacation to Redding.

Finished!

So yesterday was my last day interning for Head Start! I'm so excited to be finished. All I need to do now is write a couple thank you letters to the company, send them, write an essay evaluating my experience, and turn in my daily time log... oh and of course write my last daily journal entry and submit it. I know that may sound like a lot but really it won't take me long to do. So now I am officially a stay at home mom! No more getting a baby sitter unless I go on a date with Perry or go to the temple or something. Also I will be able to spend the afternoons with Perry! I will graduate in July but until then it is just chilaxin! My sisters and mom will be visiting next week. In July will be my niece's birthday, 4th of July celebration, Graduation, my birthday, Redding vacation, moving to Las Vegas. It seems like a busy summer but I think it will be pretty laid back.
