Ultrasound Pictures

So instead of scanning these baby pictures I will just take a picture of it. I just can't cut each of them separately.  It just works so well with a magnet on my fridge. So once the baby is born I will probably scan them. But for you all, you get the lower quality version. So just for memory's sake, my weight at my 20 week visit was 162, blood pressure 105 over 70 (or 60). Baby weighs 12 oz. The baby is weighing one day early but thats not enough of a difference to change the due date. Baby's heart-rate was 158. And as I type this the baby is pushing on my lower abdomen and kicking a lot. She must know I'm talking about her.
And I guess more on baby things going on, I'm still super excited and anxious (good anxious, not I want to puke anxious) to see what people are giving me as hand me downs. I remember looking through the stuff people gave me for Grant and loving the adorable little outfits.  So I am excited for that. Then I can really solidify what I need on my baby registry. I have been obsessed with registering this time around probably because we are having a girl. I have been trying to decide between three strollers: The Duoglider by Graco, the Ready2Grow Sit and Stand by Graco, or the Jeep Traveler Tandem double stroller. I'm a fan of Jeep since I already have their single stroller. The Duoglider is lighter than the Ready2Grow and the Jeep one weighs more than both. I guess I'm hoping for the Duoglider that can have the Graco Snugride 35 car seat attached. I know one version of it can only have the regular snugride car seat. I also was researching top of stair gates for babies. This little girl will be crawling by the time we  move so we will need that gate.  I think the most affordable durable one would be the Evenflo Top-of-Stair plus wood gate.
I also decided that we were going to use the den as the baby's nursery.  Yay! I get to decorate a baby bedroom! With Grant he got a little baby corner in our room and then when we moved I didn't feel much at liberty to do what I wanted to his room since we were living with my parents for a while. Without knowing it we live in a potential three bedroom apartment! So first I was not excited to do that because we watch movies in our den but then we decided that we could find a desk and put that where the crib was going to go and make the den shelves and drawers be all the baby's stuff and that table is perfect as a changing table. so I cleared out the floor of the den and rebuilt the crib and put it in there. I think we will use Grant's dresser in there if we can't fit all the baby clothes in those drawers. Then we can get Grant a bigger dresser since he has bigger clothes, and also put his bedding there too.  So that is basically all the baby prep going on here. I really want to hit up DI to buy a little dress and some cute sandals too. Hmm need a car. Oh well. If you have any input about strollers and gates let me know.

So in case you can't read what the ultrasound tech wrote this is the profile of the foot.  I think its really cute!

This is the bird's eye view of the head and on the top is the hand curled up next to her face.

This is her face. Looks weird but try to look with out thinking it looks like a skull, 2d ultrasounds do that.

This is the heart. The lower are the heart beats. I could see the heart about the size of a cantaloupe on their huge flat screen. Really cool.

Beloved profile picture. However the tech should have taken a more straight on true profile pic. You can tell its at the wrong angle because you can see both sets of rib bones clearly. Still cute though.

And the most awkward to present but most loved pictures is the crotch. Yes she is a girl. I'm sure there is always a slight chance she is a he but we are hoping for the former of course.
I think my favorite is the foot picture. If the profile picture was more on then I might like that one better but they are all great to have!

Girlie stuff!

So we had a great family home evening activity tonight. We went to Babys R Us and picked out a baby outfit to take our little girl home in from the hospital. We decided to make it a tradition to buy new at least one outfit for baby each time. We are thrifty people so this works well for us. When we got Grant's outfit it was easier because we were looking for one thing: Guitar related. This time it was great to see how Perry was in the shopping. He said "Its different shopping for a girl. With Grant it was easy because we just got him a guitar outfit, but with our little girl I just want her to be pretty." So we just found the cutest prettiest outfits there were and finally widdled it down to 2 pj outfits (they were together) and some bows. Bows! I got to buy bows! If I was not thrifty I would have bought at least 5 outfits including shoes and more bows and the teeny weeny swimsuit! But alas I could only pick one. This was so fun! I can't wait to see what some friends and family are giving me as hand me downs and what we get for our shower. Then I can really have some fun at DI!

I think this one is my favorite of the two.

Which one is your favorite?

Bows!

It's a.....Gender Reveal Party!

My family came up for the party on Friday. Friday evening we attended a Hunger Games Release Party.  It was fun. They had 2 obstacle courses, archery viewing, trivia games, "Capital" makeovers, etc...

Grant loves motorcycles. I'm pretty sure next time we come to the Riverwoods we will be stopping here.

Sisters!

Later that evening we went to Pizza Pie Cafe (kind of a tradition, the first night of company in our family) Grant really liked Hailey's shoes.

Grant spilled water on Megan.
He tried to help her dry off.

*****Disclaimer: The pictures below were taken by my lovely sister Amber, therefore she is not featured in any of them! Thank you so much they turned out great!!!!*********

So yes we had our reveal party. After seeing it somehow online I thought it would be a really fun idea. I just basically invited family because I thought it would be better that way in case I had a shower, didn't want to over kill celebration of the new baby. Of course in my heart I could never over celebrate but you know.

So I totally didn't plan well with set up and timing. Luckily there were only 2 other sets of guest that were coming other than my family and they were both late so it worked out. But like half way through the supposed time of the party I was set up and the guests had arrived. I'm glad it was so laid back and my house turned into an explosion of daycare/preschool mess. The kids had free range to roam while us adults did our party.

So the party events were as follows:

I chose the basic theme of blue vs. pink. Nothing fancy. I will do something real cute for the shower though. So we had blue and pink streamers, balloons, napkins, plates, silverwear, punch, pink lemonade, and I bought a great bouquet with a pink and white gerbera daisy, a purple iris (there wasn't a blue flower), and a yellow tulip, etc...

We served baked potatoes and chili with those toppings on the left. The middle is a pasta salad my sister  in law brought. Our other friends the Richards brought some yummy fruit salad.
The pretty flowers! I love fresh flowers! Oh and I need to scan those ultrasounds pictures so you can all see them.

The first game was to guess with yes or no questions what baby item is taped to the back of oneself.

Also guess how many candies are in the jar.

There were 103.
Suggest a boy and girl name.
Megan actually came up with a name that we have put on to our top three baby girl names! So it was beneficial after all. I was just doing the activity for entertainment factor.

And guess the "poo" that fills the dirty diaper (really its chocolate candy).

After we had our potato lunch with chili, pasta salad, fruit salad, and green salad.

After eating we played a game where you match maternity things with candy bars such as "Contraction" would be matched with "Whopper". :)

Then I announced the winners to the games.

We then played an activity where we saw how the "Old Wive's Tales" would have voted on what the gender is by their myths.  The wive's tales were mostly correct. There were 11 tales and only 3 were wrong.

THEN we cut the cake.

I can't believe its finally time!

Fun long party. I liked how laid back it was. Anyway, I'm sure everyone has seen the video but yes the middle of the cake determined the gender of the cake. My friend was the only one to know the gender at first. She filled the cake for us. And it was PINK!

And this photo features the crotch pictures that shows the privates.  I will upload that one too with the other ultrasound  pictures.
My 5 months/20 week picture.
So yes everyone we are having a GIRL! We have decided on 3 names that we like. I will post them when it comes closer to the due date.  I want to go buy something girlie now! And I have been browsing for my registry online. Fun stuff! We are so excited for this little girl to come!!!
I honestly think the shirt at the party made me look super huge so here are pictures I took today in a fitted one so you could really see how big my belly is.
20 weeks! Half way!

Family Reunion

I blogged about our family weekend but didn't post any pictures. So here are some catch up items.
Playing games on Saturday night.

The boys watching a movie.

More games.

Megan and her Beau.

Gotta have some basketball time.

And some park time.

My handsome bro who we hadn't seen in over two years. Lets never do that again.
Our car broke down on our way to the temple. Such is our luck with cars.
